Mussa Condemns Recent Threats Against Saudi Ambassador

Arab League Chief Amr Mussa condemned the recent threats against Saudi ambassador to Lebanon Abdel Aziz Khoja and Emirati Mohamad Sultan Sweidi. In a statement, Mussa expressed his support for both ambassadors stressing that these threats were unacceptable. Mussa meanwhile expressed surprise over attacks at the Saudi ambassador who was deploying all possible efforts to reconcile the feuding Lebanese parties. And on a similar note, the Emirati ambassador received supportive phone calls from House Speaker Nabih Berri, Premier Fouad Siniora, Grand Mufti of the Republic, as well as a number of Lebanese officials. The Emirati ambassador stressed that his country would continue its support towards Lebanon, without any interference in the internal affairs of the country. |
