Mp Hariri Meets Cousseran In Paris, Heads To Riyadh

Sources close to Head of the Future Bloc MP Saad Hariri told the Pan arab daily Al-Hayat today that Hariri held a four hours meting before yesterday with French Foreign Ministry envoy Jean Claude Cousseran in the French Capital. MP Hariri left Paris to Riyadh to meet with Saudi officials. Cousseran for his part headed to Washington to discuss with American officials ways to guarantee the Lebanese presidential elections take place on time. Cousseran's meetings with US officials will also be a follow up to discussions held weeks ago between French President Nicolas sarkozy and his US counterpart George W. Bush regarding the Lebanese file. The French Envoy will pursue his Arab and international meetings, in order to exercise an indirect pressure on Syria for it not to hamper the elections. Cousseran is to visit Cairo, Riyadh with a possibility of heading to Tehran. Damascus is not on Cousseran's agenda till now |
