Prime Minister Fouad Saniora Held A Phone Call This Morning

with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal to brief them on the majority’s stance from the nomination of General Michel Suleiman. Yesterday, Siniora held a phone call with Egyptian President Husni Mubarak and brifed him on the latest developments. Mubarak expressed his comfort towards the developments in Lebanon.Siniora also held a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Russian News Agency Novostei quoted Lavrov as saying that Russia will pursue its efforts in aiding Lebanon overcome the political crisis. Lavrov added that Russia was looking forward to see the Lebanese reach the widest possible consensus that would guarantee the rights of the different political and religious factions in the country. |
